Amy aka Park City Girl is having a Blogger's Quilt Festival that everyone is invited to join. I missed the first one and am looking forward to participating this time.

Quilters will be showing their favorite quilt that they've made.  It's going to be great fun seeing the quilts and hearing the stories about them! So come on and join!

Zig Zag Quilt Along

My top is finished for the Zig Zag Quilt Along that I did with the group at Flickr. It's a baby size. Now I will have to find a backing and binding to finish it up. The batting I'm going to use is Bamboo. It will be the first time I've used it and hope I like the feel of it.

9 Patch Quilt Top

Here is my finished top for the 9 Patch One A Day Quilt Along. Now to find a backing and get it quilted together. It's pretty big so this one may take a while to finish. I'm happy with the way it turned out!

Zig Zag Quilt Along

I've joined another Old Red Barn Co. Quilt Along over at Flickr. This time Amy is doing a Zig Zag quilt. I've decided to do mine as a baby quilt since I've still got quilting to do on the last one. Vacation and Farm Town have gotten me behind. lol

This is the fabric I chose for the quilt.

 

How I plan on the rows looking. You wouldn't believe how many times I rearranged this fabric to get it the way I wanted it.

Today I will start sewing the squares together. I really will since Facebook's Farm Town is not working. lol

Home Sweet Home

So much for my plans to blog while on vacation.  It was so nice to get away and visit with family. We left FL and went to Augusta, GA for 2 days. Then a day in Harrisonburg, VA. Next we were off to PA. On our way home we spent a day in Charleston, SC. I just wish I had taken more photos.

We got back home on Tuesday evening and I think I've been doing laundry every since! Seems like just 2 people wore a lot of clothes. But now I am caught up on that and I spent today sewing. Now I need to catch up on the quilt alongs that I'm doing.  

I've started putting the rows together in the 9 Patch A Day and it's looking good. Here's a sneak peek at the rows.

Ready to Quilt

My top is finished and ready to quilt! I'm going to practice first on a small wallhanging that I did a year ago and never finished. Now that Dana has me so motivated in quilting maybe I will finish up all those UFO's I have. :)

Quilt Along Update

I'm making good progress on my quilt. Here's a photo of the squares and also one row. I think the colors in this quilt are so pretty together. My son looked at it and said it reminded him of Thanksgiving and hubby said fall. So I said, yes, and what is my favorite season of the year? That's right, autumn.

 

In just a bit I'm going to go sew the rows together. Last night I got a lot of them finished so it shouldn't take long. This week we will start the quilting on it. Free motion! I've never been brave enough to do that before so it should be interesting.

9 Patch Quilt Along Progress

I am finished all my 9 patch blocks for the quilt a-long! Wow, I can't believe I am ahead of things on this one. As soon as I get caught up on the other quilt along, I'll start doing the sashing on this one. Here's a preview of some of the blocks laid out on a sheet on my design wall ... umm, I mean living room floor. I made extra since I want it for our queen size bed.

Another Quilt Along - Week 2 Progress

Dana at Old Red Barn Co. is having a Quilt Along that will be starting Week 4 tomorrow. I started late so I've just begun sewing my strips together. But I hope to catch up soon.

These are my fabric strips for Week 2 of the Old Red Barn Co. Quilt Along. I so love doing the quilt alongs since it has really gotten me motivated again with quilting.

I even bought a 1/4 foot for my Pfaff yesterday. OMG, you should see my perfectly consistent seams! And I can sew even quicker using the foot instead of worrying about having wonky wobbly seams!
