A few weeks ago, I showed a photo of a crocheted work in progress. At that time, it was a bunch of granny squares. Well, I'm happy to say it is now a finished baby afghan. I've really pleased with how pretty it turned out. Here it is!
I thought I would show my current crochet project. All the little granny squares looked so cute that I just had to take their photo. It's going to be a baby afghan. I'm currently joining the fourth row of them. I put my headset on while I'm talking on the phone and stitch away.
Yesterday I did a lot of reading and today was crochet day for me. I have one shawl finished to put on Etsy and today I almost finished the 2nd one. This is my first crochet item using the V stitch and I like the look of it. I need to take photos yet but the finished one is done in purple and the yarn is a tonal. The shades of purple are so pretty. The 2nd one is being done in a blue.
I don't know where the last week went but it seemed to fly by and my blog was ignored. Not that I really did anything exciting last week to write about.
Hubby was out of town for a few days and I took advantage of having nothing to do and I did nothing! Except read, crochet and play games on Pogo. I only left the house once to go to the post office.
Mother's Day was nice. We went out to breakfast and my aunt and uncle went with us. Dinner out on Mother's Day around here is so crowded and I just didn't feel like going out. Guess I was still in hibernation mode from last week. lol
This morning I went to the nursery near us and picked up a few plants for the yard. I bought a Sweet Potato Plant just so the wild bunnies who come around can have a special treat. So far I don't think they have found it. But I wasn't here by the window as much this afternoon to notice.
The afternoon has been spent drinking that really nasty stuff in preparation for a colonoscopy tomorrow morning. It's been awful. This is supposed to be low volume but it's still way too much for me to get down. I reminded them that I had a gastric bypass and this is supposed to be what I use but I struggled with it. And the taste is sickening sweet and salty lemon at the same time. Really gross tasting. Since my surgery things taste sweeter and saltier than usual so this is just not good. I will be so relieved to have this done and over with tomorrow. I'm glad it's early in the morning.
That's about it. I do have some photos I took last week of some of the plants in my garden but I'll post them another day here and on my Flickr.
Hope everyone had a more exciting week than me! Take care!
The past week I have been in a down mood and about all that I have done is read or crochet. Well, I have kept the house clean too. When I feel really stressed I can't even think of something to write about here. I log in, want to blog but don't know where to start. I am so stressed out over everything that I feel like a meltdown is coming soon.
On a good note, I started and am almost finished a small afghan for my fur boy, Gregory. I even learned a picot stitch to go around the edges of it. I love all the great patterns at Lion Brand yarn's website. Lots of good info there. Awhile back I found a website or blog that taught a different stitch each week and when you got each block done you could stitch them together and have an afghan. Well, I can't find that link anywhere now and I would have liked to do that. If you happen to stumble on this blog and know the blog I'm talking about please leave me a comment.
I finished my first afghan the other day! Over the years people have tried to get me to crochet but I just never really had a true interest. But now I'm really enjoying it! Actually this is the only project in crochet that I have ever finished. Terrible isn't it?
This was done as a huge granny square which made it very easy to do without having to change colors constantly. I did add a border in double crochet to the edges of it.
Oh, it's so comfy to sit in my chair and read a good book with an afghan made by my own hands covering me!!
